I voted absentee yesterday. It felt good. Wisconsin has death penalty and gay marriage questions on the November ballot. Although I moved away from Wisconsin in 1999, many of the politicians’ names are familiar. Guess the political landscape hasn’t changed much in the last seven years.
As of today I have written two articles about Christmas. That is messed up. It’s mid-October and I’m already sick of the holiday. Christmas cookies are already on the grocery shelves. The department stores have their Christmas displays up. And I haven’t even figured out what I want to be for Halloween yet or how to celebrate Thanksgiving. Yet today I found myself mulling over words like tinsel, reindeer, elves and holly.
My fingers have become highly confused after three weeks of switching each day between American and German keyboards. For example, while writing an article about Gazprom (a Russian gas conglomorate) I accidentally wrote Gayprom.
