I’m not sure how I missed what must be the biggest news coming out of Green Bay in 2007: the City Hall Nativity Scene controversy, which made it onto NPR. My mother claims she didn’t know that I would find this type of news interesting. What?!? What’s not to love about a brouhaha over the Flying Spaghetti Monster, Festivus, the banned hula hoop peace symbol and those evil Wiccans? Wonderful separation of church and state debates going on in my home town. I love it.

Haven’t seen many of the Oscar movies this year. I can recommend going to see Charlie Wilson’s War with your Pakistani neighbor and then discussing Pakistani politics afterwards over juicy Argentinian steak that sits like a lump in the stomach for days. As for There Will Be Blood it reminded me of Dancing With Wolves and that’s not a compliment.

Since I live in a country of crazed environmentalists, I was happy to get a couple Acme Bags sent my way for Christmas. They are so small and yet so big. They’re so light and yet so indestructible. Once you have one, there’s no going back to plastic.
