Trinity Hartman grew up in Wisconsin, a region of the United States famous for its cheese and pastoral charm. She studied journalism and political science at the University of Wisconsin-Madison and spent a year abroad at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid. Upon graduating in 1998, she spent some time interning for newspapers in Washington DC and Indianapolis.
She headed West in the fall of 1999 to take a job as a newspaper reporter for The Spokesman-Review. The Spokane, Washington sojourn confirmed an affinity for the rugged landscapes and soundscapes of the Northwest. But the pull of the Old World remained strong enough to lure her back.
Trinity relocated to Europe in 2005, heading first to Valencia, Spain for a Fulbright journalism fellowship. She then moved to Bonn, Germany where she spent five years working as a journalist and editor.
But nothing is forever. And Trinity found herself headed back to the Northwest in 2010, this time landing in Seattle where she continues to write and edit.
